33 1/3 LP Sound Restoration & Vinyl Surface Preservation
Until now record surface noise increasing with
use, and sometimes even without, has been a major problem with the vinyl
disc. Unfortunately, it is now
impossible to continually replace old “worn” records with new ones. Instead these records are played less often
or worse yet may simply be discarded and this collection may represent an
investment larger than your entire stereo.
Furthermore, when original pressings are replaced with more recent ones,
the quality is as, a rule, sonically inferior.
Now, however, it is possible to eliminate most, if not all, of the
surface noise found in your original pressings and to prevent further damage.
The initial step of this
service safely deep cleans the record surface removing all debris and
contaminates leaving a pristine surface.
This eliminates the noise associated with particles and residue that
accumulates in the disc groove. A
preservative is then applied which combines with the vinyl. This significantly increases the vinyl’s
integrity by stabilizing its molecular structure. Following this treatment there is absolutely
no coating or residue on the surface to interfere with stylus tracking as all
excess completely evaporates. The
reconditioned and preserved record is then placed in an anti-static,
nonvolatile NAKAOKA No. 102 sleeve.
The result is increased
fidelity with the added benefits of lower stylus-groove friction and the
concomitant condition of reduced surface temperature during play (two more
essential requirements for the preservation of your records). With proper
stylus and record care these, as well as new, records treated by this process
will remain in their protected state for hundreds of plays, virtually forever. New records have the added advantage of being
maintained in their new condition indefinitely.
